My little niece, Kylee, took a nap on her blankie and I was lucky enough to catch her all stretched out. She looks like a lil angel. I used a blurred finish around the edges to soften the mood. I also adjusted the colors to bring out the pink in her blanket and onesie. Kylee is the youngest of my nieces and nephew. She was only 2 weeks in this picture and is now 11 weeks. She continuously keeps watch out our front window. I love the sepia finish on this photo because it adds a soft feature without taking away from the intensity of her stare. The contrast of colors from the dull blue of the house in the background really brings out the bright pinks in the flowers and the stems. I also love the composition of this photo because the buds give a good balance on each side of the bloomed rose. I decided to start with this photo for a few reasons. First, I love black and white photography. I think it adds a lot of character to otherwise ordinary photos. Secondly, this picture captures the innocence and pure perfection of babies and young children. Aiden was under a year in this picture, taken over 2 years ago. He is much bigger now and I will have some recent photos as well.
